The Biofilm Problem

Biofilm is a surface deposit of bacteria and other micro-organisms, including organic and in-organic materials.

Biofilms can form on solid and liquid surfaces when nutrients and water are presents. It can cover the whole of the inside of a pipeline, but is more commonly found in lots of small patches.

EndoSan-CWD: Efficacy Data

The efficacy of EndoSan-CWD was tested to EuroNorm (EN) standards by SGS, a world leading inspection, verification, testing and certification body recognised as the global benchmark for quality and integrity.

To be approved in accordance with each EN standard, the concentration of the test organism must be reduced to a certain level (a log reduction) within the required time frame. Log reduction provides a quantitative measurement describing what percentage of the contaminants which were present when the test began were killed during the test.

All SGS tests were carried out using a 3% H₂O₂ concentration of EndoSan-CWD.
